Basic Personality:
Shuyin is someone who feels deep emotional pain. He hardly, if ever, can find happiness in anything. He doesn't get along with people too well, as he tends to close himself off from them. He does talk, yes, but he doesn't enjoy talking about himself or his problems to anyone, nor does he like getting to know people. Also, Shuyin is pretty easily angered. If someone does even the smallest thing, it can easily anger him. He does have a pretty short fuse.

Though he doesn't really get along with people, if he ever does care for someone, it is for life. It could be a friend or a lover - whoever it is, he will forever cherish the person. As angry and unapproachable as he seems to others, he will be just as loving and happy with a person he cares for. He would never do anything to internally hurt someone he loves, and would willingly throw away his life for them.

Background:
Shuyin appeared in Neisenma around twelve years of age. He didn't know how he got there, or why he was there, nor did he remember anything else. At first, he wandered around in quite a confused state, until he got guidance from another youth. The youth helped him get some odd jobs and food, so he felt pretty content with the way things were going. The two ended up becoming very good friends. However, one afternoon Shuyin got a special job that required him to head to the seventy-ninth district of North Rukongai. His friend was reluctant and decided not to go with him. He warned Shuyin of the crime in the area, but the blonde basically shrugged it off and went without him, telling his friend he would be back as soon as possible.

While in North Rukongai, Shuyin saw a few men targeting a young woman. Using his fighting knowledge, he was able to save the young woman. He two of them became very close afterwards, so close that they became lovers.

However, that didn't really last long, as in that district, nobody was safe. One afternoon, a gang surrounded the two. The said gang consisted of several dozen individuals. He didn't expect it, but one of the members of the gang was none other than the friend he had met. He didn't understand what was going on or why exactly the same friend that told him about the dangers in the area was in a gang. Shuyin tried to fight his friend, but was struck down and knocked unconscious. When he woke up, his lover was gone.

He felt betrayed, and not to mention worried. Where was she? Where did she go, and why exactly was his friend in a gang? Ever since then, he had been looking for her. It has been several years since that day, but he has had no luck in finding her, no matter where he goes.

Shuyin decided he would never trust anyone again. People were horrible.
